Shooting will begin on Ecosse Films’ romantic comedy this weekend on the Isle of Man and Scotland.

Ugly Betty actor Michael Urie, Federico Castelluccio (Furio Giunta in The Sopranos) and Brit actress Maureen Beattie have joined the cast of Ecosse’s romantic comedy The Decoy Bride, which begins shooting on June 27th.

They will appear alongside David Tennant, Kelly MacDonald and Alice Eve in the film, which centres around the love triangle between a film star, her British boyfriend and the “decoy bride” she has employed to fool the paparazzi on the sleepy Scottish Island of Hegg.

The script has been written by Neil Jaworski and comedienne Sally Phillips, who also takes a supporting role in the film. Sheree Folkson is directing.

Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae of Ecosse Films and Paul Ritchie are producing, with CinemaNX distributing and Hanway Films handling international sales.

Scottish Screen are also backing the film which is due to shoot for five weeks on the Isle of Man and in Scotland.
