Exclusive Media Group’s (EMG) documentary unit, Spitfire Documentary Films, is teaming with Flat-Out Films and Diamond Docs on a non-fiction project.

Styled as a “definitive” motor racing documentary, Formula One charts the glamourous sport from its rise in the 1960s and 70s and examines how safety advocates used its global appeal to lobby for changes.

Paul Crowder is producing and Mark Monroe is wring the screenplay, while Michael Shevloff of Flat-Out Films and Spitfire Pictures’ Nigel Sinclair serve as executive producers.

Exclusive Film Distribution is handling worldwide sales and distribution and will bring the project to EFM.

Sinclair said, “We are truly honoured to make this film, to tell this story which has never been told. The heyday of Formula One racing was a very different time, when the risks were high and the characters were larger than life.”
