International sales company LevelK has added Amiel Courtin-Wilson’s Australian feature film debut Hail to its slate.

The film is the first Australian feature in 10 years playing in competition in Venice Horizons (Orizzonti).

A real couple, Danny and Leanne, play themselves in a drama based their lives. The film is described as “at once a delicate love story and a uniquely immersive cinematic assault.”

Melbourne-based Amiel Courtin-Wilson wrote, directed and produced together with Michael Cody for filmmaking collective Flood Projects.

The film will be distributed in Australia through Madman and was funded by Screen Australia, Film Victoria and the Adelaide Film Festival.
