Lance Volland has been promoted to senior vice president of publicity at Warner Bros Pictures International (WBPI).

Volland, who joined the studio in 1998 as a director and most recently served as vice president, will head up the studio's international publicity department.

Based in Burbank and reporting to marketing president Sue Kroll, Volland will create and oversee all aspects of publicity campaigns for WBPI releases and is currently at work on 300, Zodiac, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, and Ocean's 13.

Work is also underway on the campaigns for The Brave One, I Am Legend, Beowulf and Sweeney Todd.

'Lance is very well respected throughout the international marketing community for his insight and savvy in the publicity arena,' Kroll said.

'In his nine years at the studio, he has become a key contributor to our global marketing strategies. I am tremendously proud of Lance, and delighted to recognise his dedication and accomplishments with this promotion.'

Volland served as vice president of international publicity since 2003. He started his career at the publicity agency Rogers & Cowan.
