The field of documentary shorts has been narrowed to eight films, three to five of which will earn Oscar nominations at the 84th Acadamy Awards.

Voters from the Academy’s Documentary Branch chose from 35 eligible entries.

The 8 Doc Short contenders are:

Pipe Dreams (Leslie Iwerks Productions)

Saving Face (Milkhaus/Jungefilm)

The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom (Supply & Demand Integrated)

Witness (Buche)
