Image takes domestic rights to Accidents Happen

Image Entertainment, Inc. has snapped up all North American rights to Bankside Films’ bittersweet drama Accidents Happen starring Geena Davis.

Wendy Rutland of Image Entertainment and Stephen Kelliher, head of sales and marketing at Bankside Films, negotiated the deal.  A US theatrical release is being planned for the first quarter of 2010. The film also sold to Vertice Cine in Spain.

Accidents Happen is a Red Carpet production from producer Anthony Anderson and is executive produced by Heather Ogilvie. The film is directed by Andrew Lancaster.

Meanwhile Bankside sold Ana Kokkinos’  Blessed to Baditri for Spain and How About You, starring Vanessa Redgrave to Sherlock Films in Spain. New UK distributor Matchbox Films picked up Carl Bessai’s Normal starring Carrie-Anne Moss.
