Sebastian Dehnhardt’s documentary Klitschko about the Ukrainian-born heavyweight boxing champions Vitaly and Vladimir Klitschko has been sold to US distributor Corinth Films.

The deal for North American rights was concluded just three days after its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday evening.

Dehnhardt’s debut feature documentary looks back at the brothers‘ childhood growing up in the Ukraine, first successes as amateur boxers, then the move to Germany and follows their rise to superstar status in the world of international boxing.

Klitschko is the first theatrical production by Cologne-based Broadview Pictures and was backed by Filmstiftung NRW and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). It will be released in German cinemas by Majestic Filmverleih on June 16.

World sales are also being handled by Broadview Pictures.
