Dean Wilson has been named chief operating officer First Look Studios (FLS) and will report to FLS chief executive officer Trevor Short and Avi Lerner, co-chairman of FLS controlling company First Look Holdings.

Wilson most recently served as head of new business development for Blockbuster Inc and was responsible for the company's alternative film distribution strategy.

In his new position Wilson will be responsible for the marketing, sale, acquisition and distribution of FLS product.

Wilson joined Blockbuster in 1995 and during his term held a variety of domestic and international positions including executive vice president and chief content officer worldwide.

Wilson was also one of the founders of DEJ Productions, Blockbuster's film acquisition and distribution subsidiary that was sold to FLS in 2005. Prior to that he served at music and video retailer Trans World Entertainment.
