Fortune Star Entertainmenthas entered into an agreement with Singapore-based InnoForm Media, KelvinTong's Boku Films and the Media Development Authority (MDA) to co-produce Tong'supcoming Rule Number One.

Tong, whose previous creditsinclude The Maid and Love Story, will write and direct the Mandarin-languagehorror cop thriller.

Based on the urban myth of supernaturalcalls received by the police force, the $1m production tells the story of agroup of policemen who take five calls which begin with "there's somethingstrange in my house".

To be shot on high-definitiondigital cameras, the film is scheduled to start production in mid-2007 for anearly 2008 delivery. Fortune Star's general manager Peter Poon, InnoFormMedia's general manager Lim Teck and Tong are co-producing.

Fortune Star is responsiblefor worldwide distribution while InnoForm will handle Singapore and Malaysia. The new film will also be broadcast on Star Group'sStar Chinese Movies network, which previously co-produced Focus: First Cuts withHong Kong's Focus Films. Tong's Love Story is one of the six episodes in the series.

Tong is currently finalisingthe script for horror comedy Men In White,also an InnoForm production, which is due to start shooting by the end of nextJanuary.

Tong is also attached to theprequel to The Maid for MediaCorpRaintree Pictures, which is expected to go into production in the firstquarter.
