Hyde Park International (HPI) will commence sales here on Scott Free's Tell-Tale, a horror tale inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's classic short story The Tell-Tale Heart.

Scott Free has hired Michael Cuesta to direct Poe's story of a murderer who believes his dismembered victim's heart continues to beat beneath his floorboards.

Shooting is set for early 2008 and the feature version will be set against the world of cutting-edge science.

Dave Callaham wrote the screenplay and Tell-Tale is being produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, Michael Costigan, and Christopher Tuffin and Martin Shore of Social Capital, which is financing the project.

'Ridley and Tony are great storytellers,' HPI's Lisa Wilson said. 'We feel that Tell-Tale will differentiate itself from other genre fare in its sophistication, quality and commerciality.'

Scott Free's Malcolm Reeve negotiated the deal with Gordon Steel and John Baca of The Steel Company. All three will serve as executive producers.
