The International Documentary Association (IDA) has announced two of the winning theatrical documentaries to be honoured at the 2007 IDA Distinguished Documentary Achievement Award Gala Benefit in Los Angeles on Dec 7.

Spike Lee's Hurricane Katrina film When The Levees Broke: A Requiem In Four Acts will receive the Pare Lorentz Award, and David Hoffman's Sputnik Mania will receive the IDA/ABC News VideoSource Award.

The winners in the feature, short and Alan Ett music documentary categories will be announced live on Dec 7.

Feature nominees are Dan Klores' Crazy Love, Richard E Robbins' Operation Homecoming: Writing The Wartime Experience, Michael Moore's Sicko, Alex Gibney's Taxi To The Dark Side, and Mary Olive Smith's A Walk To Beautiful.
