EXCLUSIVE: IM Global and China’s Wanda Media are teaming for worldwide sales, excluding China, for Wanda’s action adventure film The Ghouls.

Sales will kick off here at the AFM. IM Global wll lead sales outside of Asia; Wanda’s International Distribution Manager Celine Lin will handle Asian territories.

The film unusually brings together financing from three of China’s biggest film companies – Wanda Pictures, Huayi Brothers and Enlight Media.

The 3D epic is currently filming in China and New York and will be readied for a December 2015 release. Wuershan [pictured] (Painted Skin: Resurrection) directs and Chen Kuo-Fu (Detective Dee) produces.

The film is based on the hit novel series, about a clan of graverobbers working in New York who are called back to solve ancient mysteries in the tombs of China.

The deal was brokered by Lin on behalf of Wanda Media’s General Manager Gillian Zhao, and on behalf of IM Global by CEO Stuart Ford, SVP of International Business Development David Jourdan and head of business affairs Deborah Zipser.

IM Global opened its Beijing office in June 2013, led by Leslie Chen as SVP, Sales and Acquisitions for Asia.
