Harbour Pictures/BVIproduction The Kinky Boot Factory is to start shooting at the end ofNovember with Joel Edgerton and Chiwetel Ejiofor to star as the two male leads,Charlie Price and Lola.
Julian Jarrold (Cracker;Crime & Punishment; White Teeth) is directing, with producers NickBarton and Suzanne Mackie working again with the production arm at BVI UK,following their successful collaboration on Calendar Girls. They arejoined by Peter Ettedgui, who co-produces.
The comedy sees CharliePrice set about rescuing his dad's ailing Northampton Shoe Factory with thehelp of a sassy Soho cabaret star, Lola.
Shooting takes place for 11weeks on location in Northampton, the shoe capital of the UK, before relocatingto Central London and Ealing Studios.
Other casting includes:Jemima Rooper, Linda Basset, Nick Frost, Sarah Jane Potts, Robert Pugh, JoannaScanlon and Gwenllian Davies.
Denmark's Eigil Bryld hasjoined the crew as the Director of Photography, Gail Stevens as CastingDirector, Alan MacDonald as Production Designer and Sammy Sheldon as CostumeDesigner
The Kinky Boot Factory is a Harbour Pictures production in association withBuena Vista International, UK, and the film will be released worldwide by BVIlate 2005.
