The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) has announced that it is opening up its candidacy for the Filmmakers Development Lab (FDL) from Korean-Americans and Korean nationals to all ethnic Koreans who can work in the English language.

Last year, the inaugural FDL, modeled on the Sundance labs, paired five emerging writer-directors like Mora Mi-ok Stephens with mentors from the US and Korea like hit producer Jonathan Kim (Silmido).

They developed English-language projects and presented them during the Pusan International Film Festival. This year, the projects will also be presented at the IFP Market in New York.

The FDL workshop will run Aug 26 - Sept 2 in Hawaii. KOFIC is taking applications until April 30.
