Martial arts world champion Cung Le, US actor Cam Gigandet (winner of the MTV Movie Award for Best Fight Scene for his performance in Never Back Down), and German actors Wotan Wilke Moehring and Andre Hennicke have joined Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster in the cast of Christian Alvart's futuristic and claustrophobic thriller Pandorum.

The project begins shooting at Babelsberg Studios from Aug 11.

The Constantin Film/Impact Pictures production, which will be released in North America by Overture Films, will also feature German newcomer Antje Traue (Phantomschmerz) as a tough and sexy female scientist.

Moehring and Hennicke had played the leads in Alvart's feature debut, the 2005 serial killer thriller Antibodies (Antikoerper), which launched his international directing career.

Meanwhile, Monday will see production wrapping in Berlin on a second Constantin Film production, Maennersache, the first cinema outing by Germany's most successful live comedian Mario Barth who co-wrote the screenplay with fellow comedian Dieter Tappert.

Barth is co-directing the comedy, which also features cameos by Jürgen Vogel, Leander Haussmann and controversial local rapper Sido, with veteran DoP Gernot Roll (Robber Hotzenplotz).

Constantin Film's production division is currently working flat out having also begun principal photography this week on Sönke Wortmann's adaptation of the Donna W. Cross bestseller Pope Joan, starring Johanna Wokalek, John Goodman and David Wenham, and Michael 'Bully' Herbig's family entertainment film Wickie Und Die Starken Maenner based on the children's books about the adventures of Wickie, the timorous son of a Viking chief.

Constantin's subsidiary Rat Pack Filmproduktion is producing with Herbig's herbx Film- und Fernsehproduktion and Constantin as co-producers. All four films will be released theatrically in Germany by Constantin Film during 2009.
