Canadian producers Roger Frappier's and Luc Vandal's Max Film is close to wrapping production On Comment Ma Mere Accoucha De Moi Durant Sa Menopause (which translates roughly as "how my mother gave birth to me during menopause").

The debut film by director/screenwriter Sebastian Rose, the comedy tells the story of a feckless 30-year-old who is on the verge of cutting the apron strings when there is a surprise addition to the family.

Rose was previously assistant to director Denis Chouinard and second unit director on last year's Tar Angel. The cast includes Paul Ahmarani, Micheline Lanctot, Sylvie Moreau, Lucie Laurier, Anne-Marie Cadieux, Patrick Huard and Pierre Collin.

The film started shooting last November, breaking temporarily as the production awaited seasonal changes. Principal photography will be completed May 15.

Alliance Atlantis is distributing the film in Canada and handling world sales. Backers include Telefilm Canada, Radio-Canada and Quebecois funding agency Sodec.
