LA entertainment groupMosaic Media Group has pre-sold a series of six urban films to HBO that will bewritten and directed by new film-makers.

One of the first ideas underdiscussion is an untitled surreal love triangle and musical inspired by hip-hopduo Outkast's upcoming album SpeakerBox/The Love Below.

The project will mark thefeature directorial debut of veteran music director Bryan Barber.

"This is about finding newand fresh talent and giving them the opportunity in an exceptional forum topresent their work," Mosaic president of production Robert Guralnick said in astatement.

"We are delighted to havepre-sold this series to HBO Films. The opportunity to be part of their uniquevision and commitment to original filmed entertainment is a great honour forus." Mosaic will produce all six titles.

Mosaic Media Group launchedin July 1999 following the merger of film and music company Atlas Entertainmentand talent managers The Gold/Miller Company.

The company has alsodeveloped its marketing capabilities with the creation of ElevationEntertainment and a 50% acquisition in the marketing division of the StevenRifkind Company.

Production credits forMosaic and its production entities include Scooby-Doo, Three Kings and Scary Movie 1 and 2and the upcoming Scooby-Doo 2, BrothersGrimm, starring Matt Damon and HeathLedger, and Elf starring WillFerrell.
