Scoot Mcnairy, Susan Prior, Gillian Jones, Anthony Hayes and David Field have joined the cast of Porchlight Films and Lava Bear Films’ The Rover, which stars Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson and is currently shooting in South Australia.

FilmNation previously closed a number of key territories including eOne for the UK, Canada and Benelux, Metropolitan for France, Telepool for Germany, Top Film for CIS, Pony Canyon for Japan and Nordisk for Iceland and Scandinavia.

Roadshow Films will distribute in Australia and FilmNation represents US rights with UTA.

David Michod directs Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson in the thriller, which takes place in the Australian desert in the near future where a man pursues a brutal gang after they steal his car.

Liz Watts produces for Porchlight and David Linde for Lava Bear. Michod wrote the screenplay based on an idea he conceived with Joel Edgerton, one of the stars of Michod’s 2010 breakout Animal Kingdom.

The Rover is made with support from Screen Australia, the South Australian Film Corporation and Screen NSW.
