Dark Horse Comics and Exclusive Media Group’s Hammer Films are partnering on a series of co-branded original graphic novels and comic books.

The first collaboration will be inspired by Hammer Films’ upcoming thriller remake Let Me In (based on the Scandinavian hit Let The Right One In) and Dark Horse Comics and writer Marc Andreyko are working with Hammer to incorporate some of the film’s characters and mythology and introduce fresh themes.

The Let Me In graphic novel will be distributed in stores in conjunction with the US theatrical release through Overture Films in October.

“From the beginning, Dark Horse has always eyed the most inventive stories and creators” Dark Horse publisher Mike Richardson said. “The existing Hammer Films library represents some of the most exciting horror stories ever told. “Let Me In is easily one of the most chilling and exciting horror stories to come along in years. As we have learned time and time again, comics provide the perfect place to expand on the storyline.”

“I am excited that Dark Horse is working with us on this project,” Let Me In director Matt Reeves said. “They have assembled an incredible creative team, and I can’t wait to see it progress.”

“Mike and I have known each other for over 20 years, and we are delighted to be in partnership with him and Dark Horse,” Exclusive Media Group co-chairman and CEO Nigel Sinclair said. “We are in very capable hands.”

“Dark Horse has a fantastic track record of creating amazing characters and stories, as well as adapting and reinvigorating intellectual properties,” Exclusive Media Group vice-chairman and Hammer Films president and CEO Simon Oakes said. “I am thrilled that Hammer has found a partner in Mike Richardson and Dark Horse to explore Let Me In.”

Dark Horse Comics have spawned films such as The Mask and Timecop.
