John Sloss and Bart Walker’s Producers Distribution Agency and Trevor Drinkwater’s ARC Entertainment form strategic partnership with AMC to release Emilio Estevez’s The Way.

The film premiered in Toronto 2010 and will open on Oct 7 in 15 markets exclusively in AMC theatres prior to expanding a week later into a further 15 and arriving on 500 screens by Oct 21.

Elixir Films’ David Alexanian produced the pilgrimage story, based in part on Jack Hitt’s book Off The Road : A Modern-Day Walk Down The Pilgrim’s Route Into Spain.

Industry veterans Dennis Rice, Richard Abramowitz, Cynthia Swartz of 42West, Marc Schiller of Electric Artists, Tierney Kelly, Terry Hines and FilmBuff are helping with the campaign.
