UK distribution outfit Kaleidoscope has picked up all UK rights from Independent.

Ian Sharp’s thriller Tracker stars Ray Winstone as an ex-Boer War guerrilla in New Zealand sent out to bring back a Maori accused of killing a British soldier.  Temuera Morrison, Gareth Reeves and Andy Anderson co-star.

Kaleidoscope plans a UK theatrical release in spring 2011.

Abigail Walsh, head of sales at Independent, said: “We are delighted to partner with Kaleidoscope on the UK distribution of Tracker after its tremendously warm response in Toronto. They are an exciting, relatively young company with lots of energy and we’re confident they’ll bring a fresh dynamic approach to the film’s launch.”

Kaleidoscope Entertainment launched its theatrical arm in May 2009 and set up its international sales company in August 2010.
