French outfit closes Italian deal on Achard drama and acquires Tony Gatlif documentary [pictured] for sales and distribution.

Paris-based sales agent Les Films Du Losange has closed an all rights deal with Italian distributor Movies Inspired for Laurent Achard’s Last Screening, which has played at Locarno, London and Turin this year.

The deal was brokered between Stefano Jacono of Movies Inspired and Agathe Valentin of Les Films Du Losange at the Les Arcs European Film Festival and Co-Production Village.

Pascal Cervo and Charlotte Van Kemmel star in the thriller directed and written by Achard, whose 2006 drama Demented, also starring Cervo, won the Silver Leopard for Best Director at Locarno.

Les Films Du Losange has recently acquired Tony Gatlif’s documentary Indignados, a fictional account of the European economic crisis seen through the eyes of a young illegal alien from Africa, which shot in Greece, Spain and France this autumn.

Les Films Du Losange will release the film in France in March and will be selling it at Berlin.

Gatlif’s Exiles won Best Director at Cannes in 2004 and his latest effort Korkoro picked up three awards at the Montreal Film Festival in 2009.
