Magnolia Pictures has acquired US rights to Terrence Malick’s To The Wonder while eOne Films North America will release Brian De Palma’s Passion. Both films will open in 2013 and thus are out of contention for the current awards season race.

Senior vp of acquisitions Dori Begley negotiated with CAA for To The Wonder, a story about love starring Ben Affleck, Olga Kurylenko, Rachel McAdams and Javier Bardem which premiered in Venice.

Sarah Green and Nicolas Gonda produced and Glen Basner of international rights holder FilmNation served as executive producers alongside Jason Krigsfeld and Joseph Krigsfeld of Brothers K Productions.

Passion
also premiered in Venice and stars Noomi Rapace and Adams in the tale of a power struggle between two women set against the international business world.

eOne Films North America president David Reckziegel and vp of worldwide acquisitions Sejin Croninger brokered the deal with ICM Partners, SBS Productions Saïd Ben Saïd.
