IM Global’s Octane genre label financed and produced the horror spoof and Open Road plans to release the film nationwide in the US on Jan 11 2013 with a P&A commitment from Endgame’s fund and Open Road.

Michael Tiddes directed A Haunted House from a screenplay by Marlon Wayans [pictured] and Rick Alvarez, both of whom also produced. Wayans stars alongside Cedric The Entertainer and Essence Atkins.

The film sends up found footage films like the Paranormal Activity films and follows a young couple who move into a new home and discover the woman is possessed.

Stuart Ford, who coincidentally handled international sales on the original Paranormal Activity, will serve as executive producer alongside Deepak Nayar, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Steve Squillante and Lisa Blum.

Open Road CEO Tom Ortenberg, general counsel and evp of operations and business affairs Elliott Kleinberg and svp of acquisitions Ben Cotner brokered the deal with Larry Kopeikin and Kevin Yorn on behalf of Marlon Wayans, CEO Stuart Ford and Michael Roban for IM Global. Wayans is also represented by CAA and managed by Blum at NWE.

Endgame president Doug Hansen, who also serves as CEO of Endgame Releasing, negotiated the P&A funding.
