TWC has taken the film in the US as well as the UK, Australia, South Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

Wild Bunch has confirmed to Screen that The Weinstein Co. has acquired Michel Hazanavicius’ The Artist which was bumped up to the competition just ahead of Cannes and which has been receiving very positive reviews following its first press screenings.

TWC has taken the film in the US as well as the UK, Australia, South Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Japan’s Comstock and Gaga are partnering on the film for their territory.

Meanwhile, German distributor Delphi Film has made a two-picture deal with Wild Bunch to acquire The Artist and War Of The Buttons, Delphi’s Claus Boje told Screen. The Artist stars Jean Dujardin, Bérénice Béjo and John Goodman. War Of The Buttons is directed by Christophe Barratier and stars Guillaume Canet, Laetitia Casta, Kad Merad and Gerard Jugnot. Buttons was a hot seller in Berlin already going to several territories at the EFM.
