Miles Chapman to adapt sci-fi novel.

Komixx Entertainment has signed screenwriter Miles Chapman to pen the script for the film adaptation of Ben Horton’s sci-fi trilogy Monster Republic.

Chapman previously devised the story and co-wrote the screenplay for Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger action film Escape Plan.

The story of Monster Republic begins with the evil Dr Lazarus Fry, who is hellbent on world domination and engineers an explosion in a nuclear power plant, patching the victims up with scavenged body parts and creating an army of superhuman soldiers programmed for destruction. But teenage boy Cameron escapes, and joins forces with a band of rebel kids to seek revenge on Fry.

The novel was published by Random House Children’s Publishers UK (RHCP) in January 2010.
