UK genre outfit Jinga has picked up Paul Hough’s sci-fi thriller The Human Race and Juanra Fernandez’s For Elisa to its Cannes lineup.

The former tells the story of 80 random people abducted from a city street by an unknown entity and forced to compete in a brutal race to the death.

“We saw The Human Race at Brussels Fantastic Film Festival and it was a must have title,”  said Jinga’s Julian Richards.

“The pace is relentless from beginning to end and Hough’s direction is bursting with unique ideas.”

Also on Jinga’s Cannes slate is Fernandez’s abduction horror For Elisa about a student who enters a terrifying world of obsession and misery when she answers a job advertisement for a nanny. Held prisoner in a house full of antique toys, she must overcome her deranged captors or become a living doll.

Filmed on location in La Mancha the film was executive produced by footballer Lionel Messi.
