Cutting Edge and Exclusive Media Group (parent of Hammer Films) will work on a slate of at least five titles together, starting with Let Me In.

International music rights company Cutting Edge has struck a deal with Exclusive Media Group (parent company of Hammer Films) to invest in a slate of films and provide creative and music rights services for at least five titles.

The first titles under the deal will be Let Me In, the US remake of Swedish vampire drama Let the Right One In, for Hammer and Overture Films; and The Resident starring Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Christopher Lee.

Both films are current in post production.

“We’ve struck a number of important slate deals over the last couple of years, and to work with Exclusive, and in particular such a legendary British film brand as Hammer, is very exciting,” said Cutting Edge Managing Director Phil Hope. “Cutting Edge’s reputation for providing comprehensive services to independent film producers is growing rapidly both here and in the US and we hope to see a healthy increase in the number of productions we support in 2010.”

“Music always has a very special place in film, particularly in Hammer Films, and Simon Oakes and I are very pleased to be working with Cutting Edge on Let Me In and The Resident. We look forward to this association in all our divisions, and are particularly pleased to be working with David Hockman and Philip Moross,” Exclusive co-chairman and CEO Nigel Sinclair added.

The Cutting Edge group of companies has provided music services, creative talent and sometimes music finances to films including 2012, Orphan, Cracks, Harry Brown and Fish Tank.

Cutting Edge set up the Resonant Music Fund last year, a $20m (£13.3m) fund that invests in feature films in exchange for music rights. More than 50 films have used the fund thus far, and Cutting Edge is currently raising a new, larger fund.

Cutting Edge has office in London and Los Angeles; its subsidiaries are Air-Edel and Liz Gallacher Music Supervision.

Exclusive Media Group is an indie film studio comprising Exclusive Films, Hammer, Spitfire Documentary Films, US distributor Newmarket Films, sales operation Exclusive Film Distribution, and a library of more than 550 titles.
