The feature drama documentary about the sinking of the Titanic will be broadcast in April 2012.

Bedlam Productions’ feature drama documentary Titanic: Case Closed has been commissioned by Nat Geo International Channels and the Smithsonian Channel.

Written and directed by Nigel Levy, the film will follow Titanic expert Tim Maltin as he travels to locations across Europe, North America and the Atlantic Ocean to investigate the reasons behind the disaster and the lack of rescue.

It is due to be broadcast in April 2012 to mark the centenary of the ship’s sinking.

Executive producers will be Simon Breen for Bedlam Productions, the company behind the Oscar winning The King’s Seech, and Stuart Burrage of Airborne TV & Film.

Levy’s previous credits include Horizon for the BBC and Fatal Attraction for Animal Planet.

Bedlam’s creative director Breen said: “I am extremely proud of this documentary which sheds new light on such a tragic event and combines Tim Maltin’s extraordinary knowledge with Nigel Levy’s distinctive vision.”
