The feature doc is the second collaboration between Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow director Fiennes and philosopher Slavoj Zizek.

Sophie Fiennes, whose last film Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow was in Official Selection at Cannes in 2010, has wrapped shooting on her latest feature documentary, The Pervert’s Guide To Ideology.

It is the second collaboration with philosopher Slavoj Zizek following The Pervert’s Guide To Cinema in 2006.

The documentary has received BFI Film Fund, Film4, Channel 4, the Irish Film Board and new production and finance company Rooks Nest Entertainment.

Filming took place at Ireland’s Ardmore Studios where Fiennes shot Zizek in replica studio sets from iconic films such as The Sound of Music, Taxi Driver, The Dark Knight and Titanic. There was also location shooting in Salzburg, Austria and in California.

The UKFC provided development funding for the official UK-Irish co-production between P Guide Productions and Blinder Films.

James Wilson (Attack the Block), Martin Rosenbaum (The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema), Blinder’s Katie Holly (One Hundred Mornings) and Sophie Fiennes are producing.
