Enrique Posner, former general manager of Warner Bros in Spain, has set up new production outfit YaYa! Films with three feature films in the works.

Posner is currently executive producing 3D animated feature The Missing Lynx, with Manuel Cristobal of Perro Verde Films and Granada-based Kandor Graphics.

The $10.4m (Euros 8m) CGI animation, which follows the adventures of a group of animals on the run from an unscrupulous hunter, hired by a benevolent millionaire to start a new Noah's Ark.

It is co-directed by Raul Garcia ( The Lion King, Aladdin ) and Kandor's Manuel Sicilia.

Two more UK-set features are in development. The first, with Marina Fuentes' Madrid-based Galba Productions and UK producer Alicia Touche, is an as-yet untitled romantic comedy about infidelity, currently being scripted by Paula Edwards.

The second is a high school musical set to star young Spanish singer and theatre actress Cristina Llorente, partner and star of theatrical production company Jana Producciones, in which Posner has also recently taken a stake. Fellow Jana partner Javier Munoz will direct the musical.

Posner managed Warner Bros Pictures Int'l Espana for five years, from 2001 to 2006, and was involved in the creation of the studio's local-language production operation.

Prior to that he ran his own production company Filmania after several years overseeing international sales and financing for the Almodovar brothers' El Deseo.

'The idea is to come back to producing after the incredibly valuable experience at Warner Bros, with a view towards doing a limited number of films and being very selective.'

Posner also recently partnered with Galba's Fuentes and Perro Verde's Cristobal, Ruben Zarauza and Maria Arochena in the creation of sales consortium 6 Sales. 'Producers today need as much direct feed into the marketplace as possible,' he says.
