London-based Renaissance Films has picked up internationalrights to Gregg Araki's next film - a scary movie with teen sexcomedy elements called Creeeeps! whichis currently casting and will start shooting early next year. Araki wrote thescript and Mary Jane Skalski, who produced his last film MysteriousSkin, will produce.

UTA is handling the North American sale on the film whichRenaissance managing director Angus Finney said will feature a young, sexycast. "We are thrilled to work with Gregg and Mary Jane on such anoutstanding and original project," he said yesterday. "We feel thatCreeeep! will attract great attentionfrom strong independent distributors around the world."

"Like vintage Carpenter, Romero, Cronenberg andHitchcock, Creeeeps! aims to scare thecrap out of its audience while simultaneously aspiring to the highest levels ofcinematic achievement," said Araki in a director's statement.

"It's equal parts scary, sexy and funny,"explained Skalski, "and Renaissance got that from the first reading, sothey were the obvious choice for partners."
