TF1 International has added two new English-language projects to its slate which it will be proffering at the AFM this week. Both films, 388 Arletta Avenue and Hobo With A Shotgun, hail from Canada.

Arletta is a high-concept thriller directed by Randall Cole and produced by Vincenzo Natali and his longtime collaborator Steven Hoban. Starring Nick Stahl, the found footage film is Paranormal Activity meets Rear Window, according to TF1. Shooting begins later this month in Toronto with a 2011 release planned. E1 is handling Canadian distribution with Optimum taking the UK.

Hobo With A Shotgun, a film that’s had the fanboys all abuzz, is from director Jason Eisener who originally submitted a short version of a faux trailer to the Grindhouse Trailer Contest. Winning top honors at the competition — sponsored by SXSW and Robert Rodriguez - allowed Eisener to eventually craft a feature out of the original work. Niv Fichman of Rhombus Media, Frank Siracusa of Whizbang Films and Rob Cotterill of Yer Dead Productions are producers. Rutger Hauer stars in the vigilante epic alongside Brian Downey, Greg Smith, Rob Wells, Molly Dunsworth and Nick Bateman.

Hobo will be released in 2011 by Momentum in the UK and in Canada via Alliance.

TF1 also has two new French-language projects on its slate: family film Ducoboo from director Philippe de Chauveron and The Law of Violence, a thriller from Pierre Lacan starring Jean-Paul Rouve, Claude Brasseur, Olivier Gourmet and Gilles Cohen.
