ScreenSingapore has announced the line-up of films that will screen at this year’s inaugural event (June 5-12), including the world premieres of Hong Kong martial arts comedy Treasure Inn and Bollywood blockbuster Ready.

Treasure Inn, starring Nick Cheung who will walk the red carpet, will screen as part of an evening of action films that also includes the international premiere of French film The Assault, with actress Melanie Bernier and director Julien Leclercq in attendance.

Indian actress Asin will walk the red carpet for Ready, part of a Bollywood tribute that also includes Shah Rukh Khan presenting a sneak preview of his upcoming sci-fi superhero film Ra.One.

The opening night, at Golden Village’s Vivocity cinema, will feature a special presentation of Chinese thriller The Devil Inside Me, directed by Zhang Qi and starring Tony Leung Ka-fai, along with footage of upcoming Chinese-language films The Mural, directed by Gordon Chan, and Speed Angel from Jingle Ma.

Japan Night will feature international premieres of Warner Bros’ Japanese production Paradise Kiss and 3D concert film May’n The Movie – Phonic Nation.

Hollywood blockbusters Mr Popper’s Penguins and Super 8 will be showcased, along with previously announced closing film Larry Crowne. Singapore night will feature international premieres of Where The Road Meets The Sun, directed by Yong Munchee, and Jesus Henry Christ, a US production which has Singaporean producer Sukee Chew on board.

ScreenSingapore will also feature closed door presentations by the US studios of their upcoming product to Asian exhibitors on June 8.
