London-based international sales company Bankside Films has taken international rights on Richard Kwietniowski’s Regret Not Speaking, starring Gael Garcia Bernal and co-starring John Hurt.
Currently in pre-production, this is an erotic comedy set aboard a plane. Bankside will be introducing the project to buyers during Cannes.
The plot concerns two strangers who meet in business class during a long-haul flight to London. Both have a broken arm and both are keen to exchange stories. One has had a simple snowboarding accident. The other
tells a story that is compelling and bizarre and involves a mystery of a missing painting.
Kwietniowski, whose previous credits include Love And Death On Long Island and Owning Mahowny, also wrote the screenplay.
The producers are Peter Heslop and Anwen Rees-Myers.
