German sales company Beta Cinema will have two market premiere screenings at next month's Marche du Film during the Cannes Film Festival.

Beta will be presenting Thomas Roth's biopic Falco - Quit Living On Dreams, about the larger-than-life Austrian pop star whose international hit Rock Me Amadeus became the first German language song to go to number one on the US Billboard chart.

The cast features musician Manuel Rubey in the key role of Falco together with Nicholas Ofczarek, Christian Tramitz, Susi Stach, and disco icon Grace Jones.

The co-production between MR Film and EOS Entertainment attracted over 160,000 admissions on its release in Austria at the beginning of February and will be released by drei-freunde Filmproduktion und Verleih in Germany on June 5 after opening the Filmkunstfestival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin at the end of May.

The second market premiere will be Adnan G. Koese's Run For Your Life - From Junkie To Ironman based on the true story of the world-class triathlete Andreas Niedrig.

Max Riemelt, who was Germany's Shooting Star at the 2005 Berlinale and has previously appeared in such films as Napola and The Red Cockatoo, was cast in the physically demanding role of Niedrig who had lived the life of a junkie and petty thief before radically changing direction and training to become one of the world's most successful triathletes. The cast also includes Jasmin Schwiers, Uwe Ochsenknecht, Axel Stein and Ingo Naujoks.

The production by enigma film in co-production with Odeon Pictures, Neue Kinowelt Filmproduktion and Lunaris Film- und Fernsehproduktion, is being released theatrically in Germany by Kinowelt tomorrow.
