UK film censors order cuts to erotic 3D film banned in China.

The British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC) has ordered two minutes of cuts to erotic 3D film, 3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy ahead of its UK theatrical release.

Distributor Metrodome were required to make two minutes of cuts to scenes of non consensual and violent sex but the film was passed for theatrical release with an 18 rating.

3D Sex and Zen, an adaptation of the classic novel The Carnal Prayer Mat, about a young Ming Dynasty scholar’s journey of sexual discovery, is due to open on 2 September.

The film was released uncut in Hong Kong and Australia (where it grossed more than $1m) but was banned in mainland China.
