The London-based sales company has picked up international sales rights to Robin Hardy’s Wicker Man follow up.

High Point Films, the feature sales arm of High Point Media Group, has secured world sales rights excluding US, Canada and the UK to Robin Hardy’s Wicker Man follow up The Wicker Tree.

High Point will be selling the film at the upcoming Cannes market.

Hardy has reunited with British Lion CEO Peter Snell, who produced the 1973 cult horror story, for the contemporary tale about two Texan Christians who travel to the Scottish fiefdom of Tressock to spread the gospel.

Graham McTavish plays the sinister laird Lachlan Morrison who presides over Tressock and the cast includes Brittania Nicol, Henry Garrett, Clive Russell, and Honeysuckle Weeks.

Christopher Lee, who played Lord Summerisle in the original, has a cameo.

Carey Fitzgerald, managing director of High Point Media Group, said she was “absolutely thrilled to be working with Peter Snell and British Lion on such an exciting film.”

“While staying true to the distinctive spirit of The Wicker Man, this is a film that stands up in its own right and should attract new audiences as well as those familiar with the original classic”.
