The distributor has taken North American rights from Hot Docs to Britta Wauer’s reflection on former lives.

In Heaven, Underground: The Jewish Cemetery In Berlin-Weissensee, Wauer explores the existence of an array of characters who frequent Europe’s oldest Jewish cemetery from mourners, tourists, a young family residing at the cemetery, a gravedigger and an ornithologist.

The film premiered at the Berlinale and won the Panorama Audience Award.
