Cinema Libre Studio and Top Cat Productions have struck a US distribution deal for documentary Genius On Hold and has committed $500,000 in p&a to release in at least 25 US cities starting in October.
The p&a funding comes from a New York hedge fund and the deal was brokered by Richard P Greene of Business And Legal Support in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Genius On Hold chronicles the controversial life of telecommunications inventor Walter L Shaw Jr.
Gregory Marquette directed and Shaw’s son Walter T Shaw produced. Cinema Libre International represents sales rights.
