The Santa Monica-based company has added a new line-up for next week’s market including the Stephen Dorff thriller Brake.

All seven projects will receive their first market screenings at AFM. In the case of Bloodwork, The Revenant and Boy Wonder, Lightning Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights and will release in the US through its domestic distribution label Lightning Media.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring this slate of films to AFM for our buyers,” Lightning Entertainment president Robert Beaumont said. “The reinvigorated marketplace is looking for compelling stories and cast-driven theatrical feature films that will appeal to global audiences and we aim to satisfy that buoyant demand.”

Brake, dir Gabe Torres
Dorff plays a Secret Service agent held captive by terrorists as the countdown to a catastrophic plot unravels. Chyler Leigh and Tom Berenger also star.

Columbus Circle, dir George Gallo
Selma Blair, Amy Smart, Giovanni Ribisi, Jason Lee and Kevin Pollak star in the thriller about a reclusive heiress whose existence is threatened after she befriends the new neighbours in her New York penthouse.

The Trouble With Bliss (formerly East Fifth Bliss), dir Michael Knowles
Michael C Hall plays a 35-year-old man-child living with his parents who falls for the 18-year-old daughter of a friend. Lucy Liu, Peter Fonda, Chris Messina and Brie Larson also star. Bliss won the best narrative feature award at the San Diego Film Festival and will open the Naples International Film Festival in November.

Bloodwork (formerly Phase One), dir Eric Wostenberg
Travis Van Winkle and Tricia Helfer star in the thriller set in a medical research facility where two college friends take part in a dangerous drug trial.

Scents And Sensibility, dir Brian Brough
Modern day reimagining of Jane Austen’s Sense And Sensibility starring Ashley Williams, Marla Sokoloff and Nick Zano.

Boy Wonder, dir Michael Morrissey
Crime thriller centers on a young boy played by newcomer Caleb Steinmeyer who witnesses the murder of his mother and becomes a New York vigilante.

Wrath, dir Jonathan Neil Dixon
Corey Page, Stef Dawson, Rebecca Ratcliff and Xavier Fernandez star in the Australian horror-thriller about a group of friends who come across three disturbing strangers in the remote countryside.

Lightning is also screening the 3D horror film One Way Trip 3D, horror-comedy The Revenant and crime thriller El Narco.
