The premium network closed a deal with Submarine Entertainment’s Josh Braun and a US theatrical and DVD deal is believed to be in the works.

Petra Epperlein and Michael Tucker directed the film, which follows minor league Mixed Martial Arts combatants in Louisiana hoping to make it to the big time.

“We are thrilled to have Showtime as our partner for Fightville,” Epperlein said. “Mixed Martial Arts is the fastest growing sport in the world and Showtime is a major force in combat sports and truly represents the best in original programming.”

Fightville was produced by Pepper & Bones and received its international premiere on Apr 28 at Hot Docs in Toronto on the eve of UFC 129, the biggest fight in UFC history.
