Sony Pictures Releasing has picked up Spanish distribution rights to Jorge Torregrossa’s hotly anticipated thriller The End (Fin) from The Film Factory.

The dramatic thriller is produced by Mod, Apaches Entertainment, Misent Producciones and Antena 3 films. The film, one of the most anticipated titles of the year in Spain, will open in the autumn.

Directed by debut feature director Jorge Torregrossa, The End tells the story of the meeting of several friends from childhood who share a terrible secret from the past and haven’t seen each other in years. The atmosphere will get creepier when they are isolated in the middle of the forest.

With a $6,5m budget, Fin has a strong cast of well known Spanish actors including Maribel Verdú, Blanca Romero, Clara Lago and model Andres Velencoso, in his debut role. The script is written by Jorge Guerricoechevarría (Cell 211) and Sergio G. Sánchez (The Orphanage) based on David Monteagudo’s novel of the same name, which has been a best seller in Spain.

The Film Factory is handling international sales.
