Universal Pictures International Entertainment takes UK, Germany, Benelux, Brazil and German speaking Switzerland from Fandango Portobello, which also closes deals in Spain, Canada and Poland.

Fandango Portobello has closed a number of all rights deals on Berlin Panorama entry Diaz – Don’t Clean Up This Blood, with Universal Pictures International Entertainment picking up rights for UK and Ireland, Germany, Benelux, German speaking Switzerland and Brazil.

Fandango also sold rights to Vertigo Films in Spain, Mongrel Media in Canada and Vivarto in Poland.

Directed by Daniele Vicari, the film depicts the events surrounding a brutal attack by 300 police on 90 activists spending the night in a school during the G8 Summit in Genoa 2001. 

Fandango released the film in Italy on Friday for a weekend haul of €665,000, making it the highest-grossing Italian newcomer of the frame.

Fandango produced with Mandragora Movies and Le Pacte. The film gets its US premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival in June.
