Films Distribution has picked up Directors' Fortnight selection Salamandra by director Pablo Aguero heading into the Cannes Film Festival.

Films Distribution co-founder Nicolas Brigaud Robert tells ScreenDaily, 'The director and the cinematography are amazing. I'm really surprised no one picked it up until now; we jumped on it. Sometimes things that come out of the blue like this are our best pick ups.'

Regarding the rest of the company's line up, Films Distribution boasts competition film Frontier Of Dawn from Philippe Garrel; Raymond Depardon's Un Certain Regard title Modern Life and Fortnight selections On War from Bertrand Bonello, Private Lessons by Joachim Lafosse and Bouli Lanners' Eldorado .
