Grosvenor Films, a new UK production company, aims to raise up to £2m through the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS), a tax-based funding mechanism unaffected by this month's clamp down.

The cash raised is to finance supernatural thriller Messages, which is scheduled to begin shooting this year at Ealing Studios. Grosvenor Films is hoping that EIS schemes will be increasingly attractive for investors following this month's closure of the First Choice and Inside Track funds.

David Fairman will direct and co-produce with Jon Morrey. The script is by Wayne Kinsey, a pathologist turned writer. The story follows a renowned pathologist who begins to receive messages, seemingly from beyond the grave, asking for his help in solving a series of brutal murders.
