The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) announces Eu2.05m funding for five features in the fourth round of its Sound & Vision funding scheme.

With a total grant fund of Eu8.7m for independent television producers, the fund is financed by a levy on the Irish television license fee and the scheme requires projects have a broadcast commitment from a free-to-air broadcaster in Ireland.

The Daisy Chain is written by Lauren McKenzie and directed by Aisling Walsh and has a provisional offer of production funding from the Irish Film Board while Cherrybomb, written by Darragh Carville, was developed with support from Northern Ireland Screen and the Irish Film Board; Bridget Cleary is written by Anne Marie Casey and developed with support from the Irish Film Board - all are among the 54 successful projects across television production genres.

Previous rounds have made a major contribution to funding Irish feature film projects, including the Tom Collins's Kings, Lenny Abrahamson's Garage, Marian Quinn's debut 32A, and Robert Quinn's Cre na Cille, each of which was completed this year.
