International buyers’ love affair with Stieg Larsson shows no sign of abating, with Zodiak Entertainment Distribution closing a further nine territories on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (aka Men Who Hate Women).

The Swedish phenomenon has gone to Hong Kong (Edko Films), Singapore (Encore Films), Brazil (Conquest Films), Romania (Independenta Films), Estonia (AS Tallinnfilm) and Hungary and the Czech and Slovak Republics (Ablo). The film has now sold to more than 50 countries and grossed $84m (€61m).

Meanwhile, Lumiere in Benelux, Frenetic Films in Switzerland and Alliance Films in Canada have signed deals for the complete trilogy, taking The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest, joining Italy, Spain, Belgium and Germany.

The Millennium trilogy is produced by Sweden-based Yellow Bird, which is part of Zodiak Entertainment. Worldwide distribution is handled by Zodiak Entertainment Distribution.
