Academy dates 99th and 100th Oscar ceremonies

The Academy has scheduled the 99th Oscars ceremony for March 14, 2027, and the 100th edition for March 5, 2028.

Both shows will take place at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will air on ABC at 4pm Pacific Time on the West Coast. After that, commencing with the 101st ceremony in 2029, the show will be live-streamed on YouTube from the new venue at L.A. LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles.

The Academy has also unveiled the timetable for the upcoming 99th Oscar season (see below), whose eligibility period spans January 1 to December 31. Key dates include the shortlist announcement on December 15, 2026, and the nominations announcement on January 21, 2027. All dates for the 99th and 100th Academy Awards are subject to change

Warner Bros’ One Battle After Another was the big winner at last month’s 98th Academy Awards, earning six Oscars including best film. Sinners from the same studio earned four wins including lead actor for Michael B. Jordan. Jessie Buckley from Focus Features’ Hamnet won lead actress, and there were supporting awards for Amy Madigan in Weapons, and Sean Penn in One Battle After Another.
