Jon Hamm, Andrea Riseborough, Nicholas Hoult, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Mackenzie Davis, Sofia Boutella and Steven Yeun will star in the alien invasion comedy Alpha Gang, which Protagonist is introducing to buyers at the Cannes virtual market next week.
David and Nathan Zellner (Damsel, Kumiko The Treasure Hunter) will direct from a screenplay by David Zellner about aliens sent to invade Earth whose mission is undone when they discover emotions.
Adele Romanski and Sara Murphy (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk) of Pastel are producing the story following their Sundance hit Never Rarely Sometimes Always.
CAA Media Finance handles North American sales.
Shooting is scheduled to commence in 2021 in Eastern Europe.
